Our chocolatiers in the Bernese Oberland carefully prepare these pralines from the whole cocoa bean. We roast the hazelnuts for the special aroma bouquet before processing them with a few other ingredients to make this exclusive natural praline.
When you enjoy Hazelnut Hero, you support Ugandan smallholders, the hazelnut cultivation groves in Piedmont and the endangered mountain gorillas:
- We make the chocolate from exclusive, organic “Semuliki Forest” cocoa beans from small farmers in western Uganda. Our local partner guarantees the families a higher, regular income and promotes sustainable agriculture.
- Our hazelnuts grow in the picturesque Piedmont hills. The experienced producers run their small organic farms with a love of nature and produce traditionally and ecologically. Through natural cultivation, they preserve the extraordinary, wild beauty of the region - and harvest aromatic hazelnuts every year.
- We donate 1% of the proceeds to the Dian Fossey Foundation, which is committed to protecting the endangered mountain gorillas.
In order to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible, we use low-CO2, plastic and aluminum-free recycling packaging. The pralines are packed in compostable cellulose. This is how we preserve the natural flavors. The paperboard comes from PaperWise, the leading provider of environmentally friendly and socially responsible paper production. It consists of vegetable crop residues and was made with 100% green energy.tainable world.
