The radishes belongs to the Cruciferous plant family, and was brought to Europe via the Mediterranean in the 16th century. The exact origin of the radish, however, remains unknown to this day.
Radishes contain vitamins A, B1, B2, and C, as well as iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium, and phosphorus.
Radishes sprouts can be enjoyed after 4-6 days and are a fabulous addition to salads, vegetables, or as a decoration for soups.
