Flaxseed oil (oleum linum usitatissium) is well-established for its health benefits. Our oil is cold-pressed at a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius from high quality flaxseeds.
At around 60%, flaxseed oil has the highest alpha-linolenic acid (Omega 3) content of any oil, and also contains approximately 15% linoleic acid (Omega 6), and 16% Omega 9 fatty acids.
The high percentage of omega 3 unsaturated fatty acid in flaxseed oil makes it one of the best sources, but at the same time shortens the shelf-life of the oil itself. Once opened, flaxseed oil must be kept sealed and refrigerated to avoid oxidation. After six to eight weeks, it should be discarded.
