Untreated organic Jackfruit from Sri Lanka in raw food quality.
The Jackfruit is one of the mulberry plants, even if you do not necessarily reminiscent of the small mulberries. The Jackfruit is one of the largest fruits in the world an can reach sizes of up to 1m length with a width of 50cm and has a weight of 10 to 15kg. Across the great weight, a single branch cannot keep this fruit and that`s why the fruit grows directly on the tree trunk. The jackfruit is native to the tropical areas and in India. It grows at altitudes of up to 1100 meters.
These dried Jackfruits pieces come from small-scale, organic mixed culture. With this mixed culture the exhausted ground is regenerated and made fertile. The grounds are regularly inspected by the Institute for Maketecology in Switzerland, so that the high ecological quality can be assured.
The fruits are very aromatic, completely natural and untreated. By the sun ripening the full flavour is retained. The temperature never rises above 41°C and there are no wood, charcoal or other fossil fuels used. Further direct UV radiation is avoided in order to ensure the unique raw quality. So all the vitamins, minerals and enzymes remain intact.
The jackfruit contains a variety of nutrients. It is rich in the minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus and contains vitamin B complex, vitamin B complex, vitamin C and vitamin A.
