Untreated organic fenugreek from Italy in raw food quality
Fenugreek stems from the former Persian Empire, but was used for its medicinal properties as early as Ancient Egyptian times. Like lentils, fenugreek belongs to the Papilionaceae plant family.
Fenugreek is a rich source of vitamins A, B, D, and E, and also contains a number of proteins, carbohydrates and minerals such as iron, calcium, sulfur, and phosphorus.
Fenugreek has a slightly tart taste. Seedlings should therefore be harvested after 2 days, as over-germination of fenugreek can result in a very bitter taste.
Fenugreek is very well suited to salads, as a seasoning for side dishes, and as decoration for soups.
