Untreated organic mountain lentils from Italy in raw food quality
The lentil (Lens culinaris) is a magical, bushy plant belonging to the Papilionaceae family (legumes), and therefore similar in appearance to others in the family, such as the pea. The delicate sprout grows up to 50 cm in length, and blue-white or pure blue blossoms bloom on the end of the stalk.
Lentil sprouts are rich in carbohydrates, proteins, iron, calcium, phosphorus, potassium and vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B12, C and E.
The mountain lentil is perfectly suited to the germination process. As soon as the third day, the seedlings will have sprouted to approximately 2 cm and already have a light, aromatic taste, reminiscent of the pea. The longer the lentils are allowed to germinate, the more their taste changes. Taste the lentils after varying lengths of germination and decide for yourself which taste you prefer most.
