Swiss organic Aronia in raw food quality
Our Aronia are exactly perfect dry, but still nice soft.
The Aronia berry provides a special variety of nutrients similar to the blueberry but bitter in taste. It is worthwhile to try this berry, since no other berry in Switzerland can match the richness of the ingredients. The berry is rich in vitamins, minerals, trace elements and antioxidants, providing bitter substances for liver and bile.
Originally, the Aronia berry was native to North America, where it served as a winter provision during the 18th century. Soon after the berry came to Europe and has been cultivated here ever since.
It is similar to the blueberry, bluish black on the outside and dark red on the inside. The taste is tart and herb like, which is because of its high tannin content.
During cultivation the Aronia berry requires little demands on the soil, climate or location. The plant is very adaptable, hardy, tolerant to pests and growing as tall as 2.5 meters. The cultivation requires little maintenance and provides regular harvesting throughout the year.

The berries are picked by hand, selected, washed and then cold pressed. The residue of the extraction (seeds, pulp and skins) are gently dried and finely ground, resulting in 100% Aronia powder.
