Cold pressed organic apricot kernel oil in raw food - quality
The apricot originated in central Asia, but soon made its way to Persia, where it got its name "the seed of the sun". It was Alexander the Great who brought the fruit to Southern Europe, but it wasn't until the end of the 16th century that cultivation of the apricot began in Northern Europe.
Our high quality apricot kernel oil, oleum prunus armeniaca, made from pure apricot kernels, is suitable for both internal and external use. We cold-press the kernels at 32 degrees celsius, allowing their natural vitamin B15 (pangamate, pangamic acid) and vitamin B17 (laetrile, amygdalin) content to be retained.
The fatty acid composition of apricot kernel oil is almost identical to that of almond oil.
Apricot kernel oil has a wonderfully sweet aroma, making it suitable for a multitude of culinary uses; it can be added to rice dishes, salads, sauces, and even to desserts.
