Untreated organic pineapple from Tanzania in raw food quality.
The pineapple is cultivated worldwide in tropical areas as a fruit plant. Before the days of Columbus, the fruit was already spread over large parts of South America an across to Mexico. Columbus brought the fruit to Europe where the pineapple could be grown from 1700`s self. Often the fruits grow in glass houses in Europe and the short durability sat the trade for a long time limits.
These dried pineapple pieces come from small-scale, organic mixed culture. With this mixed culture the exhausted ground is regenerated and made fertile. The ground are regularly inspected by the Institute for Marketecology in Switzerland, so that the high ecological quality can be assured.
The fruits are very aromatic, completely natural and untreated. By the sun ripening the full flavor is retained and the temperature never rises above 41°C. Further direct UV radiation is avoided in order to ensure the unique raw quality. So all the vitamins, minerals and enzymes remain intact.
The Pineapple contains many minerals and trace elements such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, iron, iodine and zinc. Furthermore, the pineapple is a major supplier of Vitamin C and E.
Pineapple supports the digestive process because it is rich in a particular enzyme called bromelain, that is a natural digestive enzyme.
Usage: Pineapple pieces as a snack or add to muesli and fruit salads.
